Harry Potter fandom came together in Chattanooga for the Literary Tattoo Convention on Sunday. While there were tattoos of all kinds, there was a focus on Harry Potter art in particular.
The convention catered to Gryfyndors, Slytheryns, Ravenclaws, and Hufflepuffs.
There were many people getting inked with Harry Potter art, and one of WTVC's editors was one of them.
Jeffrey Morris says, "Being 8 years old seeing the movie trailer for the first time, I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen."
Today he got his Hogwarts house, an H for Hufflepuff, tattooed on him forever.
Morris says, "Hufflepuffs are kinda the house that represents loyalty truthfully fairness loyalty and we like food a lot."
The tattoo artist behind the piece was Lisa Doll of Rose Red Tattoo in Maryland. She traveled to Chattanooga just for the convention.
As Jeff was getting his tattoo, we asked how you know what house you are supposed to be in.
To find out the house you're sorted into, the creator of Harry Potter, J.K. Rowling, created an online and very in-depth quiz.
Morris says, "At first I was like man I wanted to be a Gryffindor...I looked at a Hufflepuff yeah that describes me."
It's not just the people getting tattooed who the series speaks to.
Tattoo artist Lisa Doll says that she also feels a connection to the books.
Doll says, "I think the Harry Potter fandom is a really cool thing. Sometimes when people write fantasy stories they don't realize how much it will impact people, but even if I just see it as a fun fantasy story, there are people out there that it helped them through tough times in their lives."
